According to the dictionary, this is the definition of "mandate" and this should not be forgotten!
mandate:
1. the authority given to an elected group of people, such as a government, to perform an action or govern a country
2. an authoritative command
WE are the ones who give the mandate to government. Who do they think they are to mandate anything to us? (Notice that the definition of mandate does not include the word LAW - meaning it is not illegal to defy a mandate when they do try to impose one on us).
