According to the dictionary, this is the definition of "mandate" and this should not be forgotten!

1. the authority given to an elected group of people, such as a government, to perform an action or govern a country
2. an authoritative command

So hubby was reading some comments on a post and if true it confirms my skepticism of Wab Kinew wanting to get rid of the Indian Act. Apparently, as I say if true, there are things on our books that would prevent us from joining the EU and three of them are 1) supply management 2) Quebec’s language laws and 3) the Indian Act.
Carney is causing all sorts of obstacles for Quebec regarding an EU conference in the province. If Carney is giving Quebec a hard time they won’t put up with it. They’ve been the golden child since 1867 - it will push them to separation for sure.
But I was shocked and skeptical why all of a sudden The Indian Act is on the chopping block - I thought it was because Lorne Doerkson is talking about repealing DRIPA but maybe it has something to do with EU associate membership. 🤔
