Irony of ironies
It seems Carnage can opt us in to being a part of Europe without asking Canadians- no referendum, no vote, no “carefully worded question” needed. No accusations of treason for leaving a lifelong alliance with US, no 2 years til we can decide whether we can even ask if we can decide.
BUT Albertans can’t opt OUT of Canada without asking Canadians. (Who can not afford to EVER let us go). Not after years of talking about it, 2 years of trying to find the right question. And even then our leader only allows the question to be “Albertans, would you like us to ask you if you want to be asked the question in 6 months or so and if so… do you think we should trust you to make a good enough decision to make that question binding?” As if maybe we CAN be trusted to decide who governs us but we are not smart enough and CAN’T be trusted to decide HOW we want to be governed.
At this point, I don’t believe option 2 has a hope in hell of winning the referendum. Right ...
