Irony of ironies
It seems Carnage can opt us in to being a part of Europe without asking Canadians- no referendum, no vote, no “carefully worded question” needed. No accusations of treason for leaving a lifelong alliance with US, no 2 years til we can decide whether we can even ask if we can decide.
BUT Albertans can’t opt OUT of Canada without asking Canadians. (Who can not afford to EVER let us go). Not after years of talking about it, 2 years of trying to find the right question. And even then our leader only allows the question to be “Albertans, would you like us to ask you if you want to be asked the question in 6 months or so and if so… do you think we should trust you to make a good enough decision to make that question binding?” As if maybe we CAN be trusted to decide who governs us but we are not smart enough and CAN’T be trusted to decide HOW we want to be governed.
At this point, I don’t believe option 2 has a hope in hell of winning the referendum. Right now, the petulent spoilt brats in the party/movement are fracturing the movement into so many little pieces and yes, I think DS is one of them. All she had to do was be silent and Let ALBERTANS Decide. She campaigned on doing what Albertans told her to. Not sure what happened but I suspect something did.
If we stay on this course, this will be the second time we let an NDP government slide into the door because the right is divided and that is something that CAN NOT HAPPEN! It is certain death to Alberta culture and way of life. The NDP was woefully unprepared to be elected last time - Nutley did NOT expect to win- but that likely won’t happen again. And again, it will be a misstep by Danielle that may at least in part, be the cause .
When all the spoilt children (Rath, Sylvestre , Luckysuck, Kenney, Scott, Noneshi, Parker, Smith etc) are done their little dog and pony show, it would be great if someone with some respect and credibility could present Albertans with just the facts on both sides, without attacking anyone with a different idea. Just the facts. None of the emotion or history. It’s NONE of the people named above, in my opinion. In my mind, Keith Wilson might be the only one on the current stage who could do it in a dignified way.

I get up, I go to work, and I pay my bills. When I can't afford something, I put it back. You should try that sometime with my money.
You sold yourself as the man with the experience to handle Donald Trump. So do what you told Canadians you could do. Get back to the table and get us a deal that gives our workers, our businesses and our families a leg to stand on. Your résumé has had its introduction. We're waiting for the part where it helps us, because contrary to your belief, you didn't just "get here."
