“This outcome reflects a serious problem that will explode in the coming years. Alberta’s grievances with federal policies will now get much worse. “

“While the referendum result suggests a strong desire to remain in Canada, the underlying issues that fueled the separatist sentiment remain unresolved. The is the ticking time bomb that ultimately will explode as it even did in the USSR. The vote does not eliminate the possibility of future discussions about Alberta’s autonomy or its relationship with the federal government.

The ongoing issues will continue to brew and grow larger as we move into 2028. Frustrations with federal policies persist, indicating that the separatist debate may continue in different forms. Alberta Premier Danielle Smith, who called the referendum, supports remaining in Canada but acknowledges the need for addressing provincial concerns. That is not a realistic avenue for the vote has rejected the separatist movement and the federal government has now won and they will NOT provide any reasonable compromise. Why?
They won!”

“Cyclically, we should not expect separation to succeed before 2029 going into 2031.”

I know we all have an Independence hang over today. But to me a couple things are glaringly apparent:
1. Danielle Smith should have kept her mouth shut, I believe she did a lot of harm to the movement.
2. I think the same thing about Jeff Rath and we would have been stronger if we were more united.
3. Definitely something fishy with the mail-in ballots.
4. Carney is going to ruin Canada and the Elbows Up crowd in Alberta is all in.
5. The people in the independence movement won't be deterred. This is only the beginning. Nobody said it would be easy - in fact, they overwhelmingly said it would be extremely difficult. But that never stopped us before.

WE LOST THE BATTLE, BUT WE DID NOT LOSE THE WAR

A Message to Albertans

Many Albertans took a stand in support of Alberta’s separatist movement and the referendum after years of what they believe has been neglect, misrepresentation, and mistreatment by Ottawa.

Some people may believe these Albertans lost.

They did not lose.

They stood up for their children, their families, and the future of a province they deeply love.

Although the referendum result was not what we wanted or hoped for, I believe we must honestly examine why the movement failed to achieve its objective.

We can blame Ottawa, political interests, unfair representation, or those who benefit from what I consider an abusive relationship between Alberta and the federal government.

But there is another truth we cannot ignore.

In my opinion, the separatist movement also defeated itself.

Personal egos, internal divisions, jealousy, betrayal, irresponsible statements, and unnecessary attacks weakened a movement that should have remained united.

And today, I want to speak openly about what I witnessed.
