🚨 THE $350 MILLION HEADLINE WASN’T EVEN HALF THE STORY.
While Volodymyr Zelenskyy was in Canada, Mark Carney announced approximately $1.066 BILLION in quantified commitments connected to Ukraine.
That includes:
🔴 $350 million for air defence interceptors
🔴 $435 million in loan guarantees
🔴 $200 million in concessional financing
🔴 $22.75 million for security support
🔴 $40.1 million for Ukrainian veterans
🔴 $12 million for energy programs
🔴 $6 million for the return of Ukrainian children
🔴 One third of Canada’s planned drone production
🔴 A new 100 year partnership
To be accurate, $635 million of that total consists of loans and loan guarantees. But Canadians still deserve to know the complete scale of what was announced.
Carney tells Canadians that difficult sacrifices are coming, yet commitments continue flowing overseas.
Where is that same urgency for Canadian families struggling with groceries, housing, taxes and debt?

And I've come away seeing the separation debate very differently than I did going in. I met a lot of separatists. Almost none of them were who I expected. They weren't angry cranks with a flag. They were farmers, nurses, oil workers, small-business owners, grandparents. And the thing that surprised me most: most of them want nothing more than to remain in Canada. They just can't see another choice. Think about what they've lived through. The National Energy Program. Pipelines approved, then cancelled, then litigated into the ground. A tanker ban on one coast. Hundreds of billions sent east through equalization, returned as lectures about how the industry that pays for Canada's infrastructure and provincial shortfalls is something to be ashamed of.
