Danielle Smith: We will not tolerate illegal dumping in Alberta.
Last year Calgary alone got about 30,000 complaints about illegal dumping. Piles left on roadsides, on farmland, on private property. Illegal dumping is not a victimless crime. Somebody always pays to clean it up and it is almost never the person who did it. The people stuck with the bill are the landowners, the municipalities and the taxpayers.
This fall we are bringing in the toughest penalties in the country.
Fines up to $100,000 for individuals and up to $1 million for corporations, plus jail time of up to six months.
Albertans take pride in their communities.
Our laws should back that up, and our cities deserve better than this.
I remember reading about this (Trudeau owning shares in Acuitas Therapeutics which developed the Lipid Nano Particle technology used in the mRNA jabs) a few years ago. Today I did a search on Sedarplus.ca for information, but Acuitas is a private company, so no info available. However, Sedarplus gave results for Arbutus Biopharma which is public. And Grok tells me there is an ongoing dispute between Acuitas and Biopharma, stemming from a couple of the founders originally with Acuitas and now with Biopharma. Too complicated for my brain.
The Reuters news article from February 2022 is not that helpful, completely absolving Trudeau of any involvement. Just one tiny tidbit that may have some bearing on the story: Reuters is owned by Thomson Reuters Corporation, a Canadian multinational company headquartered in Toronto. So maybe Reuters didn't look as deeply as they could have. Just sayin'.
