“On October 19, Albertans will cast the most consequential vote in this province's history. The question is whether anyone will be watching when the ballots are counted.
I want you to be one of the people watching.
Alberta's Choice, the third-party advertiser fighting for a fair, independent Alberta, is recruiting scrutineers to observe the referendum count. Scrutineers don't touch a single ballot. They don't decide who wins. They just watch, so that when the result comes in, nobody can credibly say it wasn't overseen.
You don't need to be a political insider. You need to be eligible to vote, responsible, and willing to pay attention for one long, hopefully boring, day.
We need Albertans in the counting rooms on October 19 because mistakes happen, procedures get misunderstood, and rules get applied inconsistently, as we've already seen.
The deadline to sign up is August 24.

If this referendum is close, and it may well be, both sides are going to want confidence in the result. "Trust us" isn't good enough. Farmers, tradespeople, retirees, moms and dads: this is your province and your count to protect, whichever way you're voting.
