The media keeps pushing this line that all 404,000 Albertans who signed Thomas Lukaszuk's Forever Canada petition were doing it to save Canada.
Bullshit.
That leaves out a huge part of what actually happened.
Forever Canada got approved first. At that point, there wasn't a separation petition people could even sign yet. The Stay Free Alberta petition didn't get the green light until January 2026.
So what did a pile of separatists do?
They signed Lukaszuk's petition.
Not because they suddenly fell in love with Ottawa. Not because they wanted to wave a Canadian flag. They signed it because it was the only legal way to force this thing onto a ballot. The plan was always to get it in front of Albertans... then vote NO to staying in Canada.
