First they give all the reasons why it is inappropriate and premature to release a constitution including the fact that everyone has to come to the table for creating a constitution. Then they say “A draft constitution may be released in May of 2026.”
It can’t be both! If they release even a draft in May that is quite the gamble - 50/50 of approval/rejection. Could sway voters away or towards. Will it sway more one way or the other is the question!

“Good Afternoon,
There have been a few questions circulating about this. At a meeting on February 17th Mitch noted that several Aboriginal groups (Chiefs I gather) have been given a court date of April 7th to plead their case for an injunction to stop the petition from moving forward. You will note that in the past few days they have also signed a non-confidence note against the Premier.
The petition is legally sanctioned by Elections Alberta under the amended legislation. However, we can never be sure how a judge will rule.
Mitch has asked that we push hard to get as many signatures as possible prior to that date and that we get signed petition sheets delivered to "Home Base" on a bi-weekly basis well before that date.
