Ontario has gone completely off the rails. There are countless and continuing stories coming out in this vein. I can’t figure out why people stay there. I would think they’d be deserting by the 100s a week.

A shocking poster hung in an Ontario high school’s main hallway is teaching students that “racism is not fluid” and can only be directed “against the marginalized group,” denying that white people can be victims of racism.
A Grade 12 student from Henry Street Secondary School in Whitby sent a photo of the poster to his mother who followed up with the school. The mother and another parent, Jessica Street, met with Vice-Principal Russell Davidson to raise concerns.
According to an audio recording of the meeting shared with Juno News, Davidson said he was unaware the poster had been hung and offered to “go on a hunt around the building and see what’s going on.”
One parent worried the messaging suggested her son was being taught he was inferior because he is white. She said that for her son “to be taught that he’s lesser just because he’s white… is wrong.”
Davidson acknowledged that “the way [the poster] was worded” was “not ok,” but did not comment on the underlying message.
During the meeting, Davidson suggested the poster may have been put up by the school’s Black Student Union. Street told Juno News the school later confirmed the poster had been hung by the school’s “oppression officer.”
Street told Juno News the incident offended her given her own mixed European and Indigenous heritage. “When we stop trying to categorize everyone into boxes, we create less division and foster greater unity,” she said.
The poster’s claims seem contradictory for a board that promotes multiple race-restricted opportunities and awards exclusive to racial minorities.
The Durham District School Board advertises a tutoring program for students who self-identify as Black, Black-only awards and bursaries, an Indigenous-only student celebration day, and advisory committee roles limited by race.
The board also operates a graduation coach program for Black students, staff affinity networks organized around racial identity, and race-targeted hiring initiatives.
During the meeting, Street referenced the graduation coach program, stating that teaching students that “racism doesn’t go both ways” is “false and racist.” Davidson responded that not all schools have Black graduation coaches and described the initiative as “ministry funded.”
Juno News contacted both the school and the board asking whether the poster implies that acknowledging race-restricted programming is considered racist, or whether the poster denies that such programs exist. Neither the school nor the board responded to requests for comment.

“The premier has set a date for her Big Beautiful Ballot.
Oct. 19.
The question of Alberta leaving Canada will be on the ballot if they get 177,000-plus Albertans to sign a petition demanding a vote on the issue.”
For those of you who are canvassers...
We had a meeting of all canvassers in Bearspaw last night.
Marty (up North) and his wife, Karen, shared what they have been doing to gather signatures.
First off Marty said he had an advantage with his youtube videos etc. He announces the location on there, apparently.
They found a prime location (hard here) along hwy 1A where people get off the road to go to Tim Horton's or fill up with gas. Parents also drop off kids and pick up kids to and from school, residents who attend functions in the Community Hall all drive by there. So, they indeed found a prime location. They returned a huge stack of signatures. They also have a competition between them to see who can get the most signatures.
He said he tells people who question that:
we have a democratic right to collect these signatures authorized by Elections Alberta.
this is a good way to petition the government between election years.
it is a non-partisan initiative.
IF we run into someone who is confrontational and ...
