My sister passed away this week and as her next-of-kin I needed to call Service Canada to cancel her CCP & OAS. They said caller volume was high and it would be more than a 40 minute wait. When I finally received a callback-I answered so many questions. The woman had no sooner taken my phone # when the call was dropped. She didn’t call me back and of course I will have to jump through all the hoops again tomorrow. A 40-minute wait?!?! This is unacceptable. Who is clogging up the phone lines? Three guesses and as the saying goes-the first two don’t count ☹️

Smith said she’d like to see newcomers who arrive in Alberta come with a job. She said that immigration has been “out of balance” saying at least two-thirds of newcomers should be economic migrants.
“You have to be a taxpayer before you start using our services and we’ve had the reverse,” Smith said.
“We’ve had people who are heavy, heavy users of our services,
and might not even be a taxpayer, might not even have
job (prospects). (We’ve) got to get back to the original intention.”
