Around 400,000 tonnes of Chinese steel products entered Canada in 2025, down sharply from prior years, amid anti-dumping duties, countervailing duties, and a 25% surtax. Exact “dumped” volumes are not published as a single aggregate figure, because dumping is determined case-by-case under Canada’s Special Import Measures Act (SIMA) for specific products rather than for all steel.

2023–2024: Over 600,000 tonnes in 2023 (valued at roughly $1.3 billion CAD) and around 650,000 tonnes in 2024. Chinese steel + aluminum imports nearly doubled from ~357,000 tonnes in 2020 to ~690,000 tonnes in 2024.
