This is Naheed Nenshi bragging about having "access to data that others don't". He's referring, of course, to the voter list.
The NDP used the list to request 650,000 mail-in ballots from Elections Alberta for the upcoming referendum. They know exactly who came out to vote in the last elections. They have nothing to lose by requesting ballots for people who stayed home.
100s of thousands of people will receive a mail-in ballot, and simply think that's how it is these days.

With the referendum in 2 weeks, how many of you are voting early, either by mail of advance polls? It sounds like turnout will be the highest I’ve ever seen for any type of vote. I’ll be going to the advance polls myself next week. It’s time for a change. It’s time to get out of this failing country. Let’s send Ottawa a message.
