My suggestions:
- Separate those children who have learning disabilities and/or language barriers into special-needs classes. The inordinate time teachers spend catering to them in a mixed class benefits none of them.
- Put in place legislation where the education dollars follow the child no matter where they go to school. It is unfair that only partial dollars go to private/charter schools. Investigations have shown that children in these environments are much higher achievers than those in union-run schools. I’m done being forced to put my tax dollars towards something wasteful.
- Take all measures necessary to put in place an avenue to collect ALL tax money in-province (Alberta Revenue Service?) then allocate those funds deemed appropriate to transfer to Ottawa. The CRA has proven themselves to be incompetent and most likely corrupt. At the same time, put in the mechanism to activate an Alberta Pension Plan. These being steps to becoming independent from Ottawa.
