Lacombe city council got booted out completely. The only one still on the city council that was I those chambers before is the new mayor who was a councilor before. Wholesale change and not by their choice. Most of the incumbents ran but were not voted back it. I’m not sure it’s a good thing to have that little experience but it kinda feels like a fresh start. Now perhaps they can remove the rainbow heart sidewalks and the one way streets and be more inviting to local and new businesses.

Strange that Farcas was up by about 500 votes right from the get go, then as poll after poll closed he maintained more or less the same lead, a bit odd.
Thank you to every Calgarian who voted. With a margin of just 585 votes (0.16%), I will be requesting a recount to ensure every ballot is properly counted. Win or lose, I am grateful for the opportunity and will fully accept the outcome - because every voice matters.
Here’s my response to Davison’s thank you email:
“Hello Mr Davison,
Thank you…
…for splitting the vote and leaving Calgary stuck with Farkas!
If you had really cared about Calgary you would’ve dropped out of the race and backed Sharp. This was always a 2-person race between Farkas and Sharp.
Sharp would be mayor-elect right now instead of Gon-Fark-shi (a nickname I coined based on the fact that Farkas is Gondek 2.0 / Nenshi 3.0).
God help Calgary! 🙏🏻”
