Good news for Newfoundland-Labrador. Slim is better than none!

“The Progressive Conservatives (PCs) have won a majority government in Newfoundland and Labrador, ending ten years of Liberal rule. Tony Wakeham, the PC leader, will become the province's next premier after his party secured 21 of the 40 seats in the provincial election held on October 14, 2025. The victory was confirmed by NTV’s Decision Desk just after 10 p.m. on Tuesday, October 14, following a closely contested race that saw the PCs narrowly edge ahead of the Liberals.
The PCs won a slim majority with 21 seats, a gain of seven seats, while the Liberals dropped from 19 to 15 seats and the NDP retained two seats.
Tony Wakeham, who won the PC leadership in October 2023, campaigned on issues like health care, public safety, and the cost of living, which resonated with voters despite pre-election polls predicting a Liberal victory.
