Canada has become economically weak and vulnerable to the whims of our largest export market…and Ottawa continues to dither.

Parliament could do 3 things today that would immediately turn our economy around, create hundreds of thousands of jobs and generate trillions in wealth for Canadians without spending a single tax dollar:

Scrap Oil and Gas Production Cap
Eliminate Tanker Ban
Overhaul “No New Pipelines” Law

The national economic self-sabotage has to stop. Canadians deserve leaders in Ottawa with the courage to unleash our full potential, restore prosperity, and make our country strong again

From Common Sense Calgary this morning…it will be interesting to see if this goes anywhere. It could be a minefield in the election for those who vote against it but are running for re-election.

Four Councillors - Sharp, Chabot, McLean, and Wong - will put forward a Motion to rescind the City’s 2021 “climate emergency” declaration, arguing it has driven major spending without clear accountability or measurable benefits. They point out that climate-related costs are spread across departments, making it difficult for Council and taxpayers to see the full scope of expenses. Current budgets include tens of millions in annual climate spending, with more than $200 million in additional projects planned for 2026. The Councillors also argue that one of the original justifications for the declaration, access to federal funds, is no longer possible due to new provincial legislation.
