Pray for Jocelyn Bridle, beloved wife of Dr. Byram Bridle, who is at this moment having limbs amputated to save her life. She is gravely ill and this hopefully will save her life.
"Jocelyn is going into surgery within the next 15 minutes or so. Under the guidance of the best surgeon I know and having to face the reality of rotting toes and fingers and lots of other dead tissue causing bacterial sepsis and a fungal infection (being kept at bay with antibiotics and an anti fungal), the following will be done: guillotine amputations above the ankles with progressive debridement of dead tissue, but NOT going above the knee.
Amputation of thumbs and fingers with attempts to save at least a small portion of at least one finger, if at all possible. Debridement of dead tissue aiming to preserve as much of the rest of the hands as possible. Jocelyne has consented to this and has expressed feeling at peace.
To not do this surgery now would be neglectful and place Joc’s life at unnecessary risk.
