The Buffalo Party has rebranded to be The Republican Party of Alberta (did you know that originally AB and SK were supposed to be a united country called Buffalo?) - I believe MartyUpNorth is involved in this endeavour (at least he posted about this new party on X) - anybody know anything more about this party?

“But make no mistake, if the Carney Liberals are elected and don’t reverse course on the many Liberal laws and rules and regulations damaging Alberta, the battle lines will be drawn and we will all have to stay tuned.

Remember Smith met Carney and presented him with nine demands, nine harmful Liberal moves the premier wants to see deep-sixed.

So far, Smith is batting 0-for-9.

In fact, in Calgary, Carney dismissed Smith’s demands in half a sentence telling us he had his own plans.

But if Carney wins and keeps shafting Alberta I’m betting we will see some fireworks well before Canada Day.”

I had my condo board meeting last night where we had to discuss the upcoming budget. It got heated with me having to plead my case for not increasing the fees. While I'm not opposed to a cost of living increase, I opposed it because it was due to ORANGE MAN BAD, TARIFFS! It started last week with a tersely worded email from our property manager (an entitled millennial) chastising me for even considering keeping the fees the same - how dare I jeopardize our retained earnings. Of course that got my back up and I came armed with spreadsheets detailing why it wasn't necessary. His other argument was that we are one of the complexes with the lowest fees. My reply, "I don't give a shit, I don't live there! I live here and we don't have to put our fees up when we have a surplus!" We still haven't come to a consensus, but I'm close. I will get this or be fired from the board, not sure yet which.
Not to mention we will have water restrictions again in Calgary and everyone except me was okay ...
