“Premier Danielle Smith called Skate Canada's decision not to hold national or international events in Alberta because of the province's laws against transgender females in female sports, "disgraceful," as she responded to the decision announced on Tuesday.

"Skate Canada‘s refusal to hold events in Alberta because we choose to protect women and girls in sport is disgraceful," wrote Smith in an X post.

Skate Canada announced on Tuesday that it will no longer host national and international events in Alberta in response to the province's laws banning transgender females from participating in women's or girls' sports.

"Following a careful assessment of Alberta’s Fairness and Safety in Sport Act, Skate Canada has determined that we are unable to host events in the province while maintaining our national standards for safe and inclusive sport," reads a statement from Skate Canada for a CBC....

Alberta Premier Danielle Smith talks about a made-in-Alberta immigration system and it's got some rules:
“Here goes. Buckle up.
Smith tells us what is on her mind.
“When you look at the United Kingdom which has a socialist prime minister and they’re talking about not being able to access social programs until you’ve worked for 10 years.
That’s the kind of thing they’re talking about in a socialist country.
“Those are the kinds of conversations we need to have here.
”Is there a certain amount of time you’ve got to work and be a taxpayer before you become eligible for the programs here.”

Like what programs?
”Maybe you don’t get health care covered until you have been a taxpayer for a number of years.

”Maybe you don’t bring your kids over to be educated in our publicly-funded education system or use our taxpayer-supported child-care system until you have a certain number of years as a taxpayer.
