OK here's my email to Danielle regarding the Rural Renewal Stream policy.
"Premier Smith,
This program just came to my attention and I have some questions:
1. Why are you promoting the hiring of foreign workers when Albertans, including our youth, can't find work because of the influx of immigrants and TFWs?
2. Why are you promoting sending immigrants to rural Conservative-voting Alberta when the majority of immigrants vote Liberal? That's the definition of cutting-off-your-nose-to-spite-your-face.
3. Why is the RRS information available in 15 different languages? If you are coming to Alberta, you should be able to speak English or French - the only two official languages of Canada. This is not a good use of my tax dollars nor beneficial to Alberta to have non-English speaking workers. (On one hand you ask Ottawa to eliminate the requirement for bilingualism so that English-speaking Albertans can access federal positions then you kowtow to multilingualism in this RRS program?!)
