We had a visit with friends a few weeks back and not sure how Covid came up (it’s wasn’t me this time) but the discussion became “why can’t we just go back to the way it was before Covid, why don’t we just forget about it.”. One of my friends said “too much water has gone under the bridge, it torn apart families, ruined friendships.” I said it MUST be brought up and kept current until those responsible for the deaths and disabilities from the virus but mostly from being experimented on pay the price for their crimes against humanity.”. After some silence one gal said “who has died or been adversely affected” so I started to list the people in our small area who were affected. They were all shocked at the number of people they didn’t even know they knew who had their lives taken or harmed and again there was silence. I left it at that.

So when Americans ask, “What do Venezuelans think about Trump forcing Maduro out of the presidency?”
Let me answer that question honestly, without slogans, without moral theater, and without pretending this is simple.
Most Venezuelans feel relief.
Not because we love Trump or because we believe the U.S. does things out of pure love for freedom.
