Attention Rural Albertan’s:
To sign the petition you need multiple documents:
Your driver's license alone may not be enough.
It is a good idea to bring multiple documents to prove both your identification and your residence.
In some cases, driver's license is enough, but in many cases it won't be.
Proof of current physical address is required.
Some people have a Box number or RR 1 written on their driver's licenses.
That won't work.
Proof of physical address is needed, such as legal land description.
Utility bills, land tax bills, tenancy contracts; these are all examples of paperwork that can show physical address.
In other words, you need photo identification
AND
proof of residence featuring your actual current PHYSICAL address, especially if your photo ID does not feature that.
If you don't not have these documents, get them.
If you can't sign the petition in the first week, it is okay.
There is time to gather your documentation and sign the petition at a later date.
